Over 13,000 people used the Military Ridge Trail in March 2024! Help us prevent bike ruts this spring!
Just like you, we can't wait to get on the trail, but all trail users should wait to enjoy the trail until after the spring thaw, and the trail has hardened to prevent deep foot prints and bike ruts. If you are leaving a mark, the trail is still too soft. Trail crews out on the trail
DNR trail crews are out clearing brush, removing debris, and fixing problems on the trail. Once the trail firms up, a larger grading machine will come through and fix ruts and level out the trail. 5/13/24: Next Monthly Public Meeting

A sewer project, Pumping Station 17 Force Main Relief, Phase 2, is planned near Verona that will protect the environment and serve the community for years to come. This will impact sections of the trail between mile markers 1 and 4 late 2023 through summer 2024. The trail will remain open during construction. Find out more on the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District Website See our Events page and Events Calendar for happenings on the trail.
